Thank you for your interest in supporting the mission of Franciscan Ministries sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago.
Franciscan Community Benefit Services is one of 18 charities chosen by the Chicago Auto Trade Association to benefit from First Look for Charity –a black tie, sneak preview of the Chicago Auto Show, which pampers its guests with elegance not present during the public portion of the show. Be among the first to see hundreds of new cars and trucks –some on display for the first time anywhere –and enjoy world class hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
First Look for Charity is scheduled for Friday, February 9 from 7 to 11 p.m. at McCormick Place, King Drive at 23rd Street, in Chicago. Tickets are $275 and are tax deductible. The Franciscan Community Benefit Services hospitality suite will open at 5:00 p.m.
First Look for Charity is one of Chicago’s largest single-day events –raising more than $42 million since 1992. In a city teeming with black-tie fundraisers, First Look for Charity, is an annual event that appears on the calendars of both socialites and car buffs.
By supporting Franciscan Community Benefit Services, through either a corporate partnership or individual ticket purchase, you are directly supporting the following ministries:
St. Jude House, a 30-bed domestic violence shelter located in Crown Point, Indiana, that offers a safe haven for victims and their dependent children fleeing domestic abuse. It provides meals, basic needs, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, support groups and specialized services for victims and their children. Since its inception in 1995, St. Jude House has helped 12,000 victims heal from the trauma of domestic abuse and break the cycle of violence. (Additional information can be found at www.stjudehouse.org)
The Madonna Foundation educates at-risk and underserved young women in the Chicago area through scholarships, which allow them to attend all-female Catholic secondary schools, as well as access to robust academic, leadership and college readiness programming. The only one of its kind in the region, the Foundation has awarded nearly $3 million in funds, representing 1,279 scholarships since it was first established in 2001. Our scholar graduation rate is 99.7% and 99% of the graduates go on to pursue higher education. (Additional information can be found at www.madonnascholars.org)
The Gift of Care Program provides financial assistance for residents in our senior living communities who find themselves in a difficult financial situation and need help offsetting the cost of their care. Our residents choose us not only for the quality of services we offer, but for the strong sense of family our communities embody. The Gift of Care program ensures our residents maintain the kind of life and sense of family in which they are able to thrive.
Your donation and ticket purchase directly impacts these ministries and helps to ensure a high quality of life for seniors; provide scholarships to underserved young women, and help victims of domestic violence break the cycle of abuse. We rely on you, our generous friends and supporters, to help us make this event a success so that we may meet the needs of those we serve. Together, we can transform lives.
