Understanding Alzheimer’s and Other Dementia

July 19 at 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

University Place invites you to our next event on Wednesday, July 19th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on understanding Alzheimer’s and other dementia. Click here to learn more.

Those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia lose their memory, rational thinking and the ability to perform normal everyday functions. Family members, who often become caregivers, suffer from the toll of caring for someone with this unfortunate disease, leaving them socially withdrawn, depressed, angry and exhausted. Linda Carrigan, RN, MSN will share free expert advice during a special presentation at University Place.

The three topics to be discussed:

  • What is Dementia? What causes it?
  • What are the symptoms of dementia? What are the three stages?
  • What can you do to help a loved one who is suffering from dementia?

Tours of University Place will be offered and light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited, so please RSVP by July 12 to (765) 464-5611.
