We are deeply saddened to announce the future closure of the Hospice Franciscan Communities service line, which includes the in-patient and community programs in Michigan City and the community program in Crown Point.
Unfortunately, our financial viability is such that it conflicts with our ability to be good stewards of our available resources. This difficult realization was made following a careful discernment process that involved the Board and Senior Leadership of Franciscan Ministries.
We are no longer accepting new patients. At this time, we are working with families to transfer their loved ones to one of the many, exceptional hospice programs that already exist in the area. We will remain open until everyone is successfully resettled.
We appreciate our past and present associates, referral partners, service providers, volunteers, and the community-at-large for supporting us throughout the years.
Today, we take comfort in knowing our efforts have enabled hundreds of people and their families to experience peace during a difficult time.
